Empathetic Support for Your Mental Health Journey
About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 30 years of experience, dedicated to providing collaborative, non-judgmental individual and couples therapy. I work with you to navigate life's complexities, offering a secure environment for growth and healing through empathetic support and compassionate guidance.
Drawing on my training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, I have developed an eclectic, psychodynamic approach, integrating an individual’s or couple’s history with their present-day obstacles. My clinical knowledge allows me to help clients work through sexual trauma, depression, and anxiety, and the devastating effects these challenges can have. By weaving the past and the present, I work with each client to help them attain an understanding of their behavioral patterns, current problems, and relationship issues.
In working with the LGBTQ+ community, I provide the insight and acceptance necessary to create a safe space where clients can learn to embrace their true selves. My clinical practice fosters healing and hope, thereby allowing those I work with to find purpose in their lives and relationships.
Therapy is a space just for you. Unlike most relationships in your life, your therapist can listen objectively. They can help you look at different points of view without the pressure of judgement or emotion.
Often we are not aware of the feelings that are connected to our thoughts or actions. When we shut off these feelings, they may come through into other parts of your life—i.e., dreams and undesired behaviors—and could "explode" unexpectedly. When these feelings are exposed, verbalized and understood, then transformation occurs.
